Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the technical requirements for using Google Pay?

Google Pay can be used on any device running a factory-installed, unmodified Android operating system, version Lollipop 5.0 or later, and equipped with a built-in NFC module.

The user must set up a screen lock method in the device settings, such as a password, pattern, fingerprint or facial recognition. If a screen lock is not set up, the card cannot be added to the digital wallet.

In the event of unauthorized modifications to the operating system or removal of the screen lock, cards stored in the digital wallet will be automatically deactivated and payments with digital cards will be disabled.

The digital wallet does not limit the number of cards that can be stored, and one card can be stored on multiple devices.

Which cards can I add/digitize in the digital wallet?

All KentBank Visa cards issued to individual customers can be added to the digital wallet.

Is there a fee for using Google Pay?

There is no fee for using Google Pay.

What are the daily limits when using Google Pay?

A card digitized in the digital wallet has the same limits as the physical card, meaning that the customer can make payments up to the same daily limits that apply to the physical card.

If the physical card added to the digital wallet is blocked, the card in the digital wallet will also be blocked. On the other hand, blocking the card in the digital wallet does not automatically result in the physical card being blocked.

Is a PIN required when making payments or withdrawing cash using Google Pay?

When making payments with Google Pay, authentication is performed using one of the screen unlock methods set up on the mobile device, such as a password, pattern, fingerprint or facial recognition. The PIN associated with the physical card is not used.

Cash withdrawals at ATMs with contactless functionality are possible by entering the PIN of the physical card. Cash deposits at ATMs are not available.

When using a smartwatch, a device PIN must be set on the watch. Each time you put the smartwatch on your wrist, you need to enter the watch PIN before making a payment with the digital card. If you do not remove the watch from your wrist during the day, you do not need to enter the PIN again to make payments with the digital card.

Where can Google Pay be used?

Google Pay can be used at all contactless terminals in Croatia and abroad without the need to activate roaming. You can also withdraw cash at all contactless ATMs and make payments in online stores that support Google Pay.

When paying at a POS terminal, there is no need to open the app. Simply unlock the screen of your mobile device and hold it near the POS terminal at a merchant that supports contactless payments, with NFC enabled on your device.

Instalment transactions are not available when using the digital wallet.

Is Google Pay secure?

Google Pay protects user data through multiple layers of security and uses advanced security infrastructure to ensure a high level of protection and user trust.

When making a payment, your actual card details are not exchanged. Instead, an encrypted virtual card is used. This ensures that if your mobile device is lost, your actual card details remain protected and inaccessible to unauthorized persons.

What should I do if I lose a device containing cards digitized in the digital wallet?

To block the digital cards on your device, follow the instructions provided by the digital wallet or contact Customer Support at 0800 0006.
